A company-wide commitment to the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is one of the pillars of our strategic planning process and implementation. RSGT fully considers and respects the interests of all of our partners, employees, customers and other stakeholders in the local community, and beyond, as we continue to expand our operations and our business presence regionally, and internationally. Our business model incorporates programs and activities to promote and support social, cultural and economic development in every market in which we operate.
We consider honest, constructive collaboration with all of our stakeholders to be an essential component of our dynamic development in local, and international business communities, and an essential part of RSGT’s contribution to sustainable and proactive social development.
A dedication to the environment and environmentally sustainable operations is one of the key components of our CSR approach, and is a key factor in the stable, long-term development of RSGT.
Sensitivity to environmentally sustainable port operations and infrastructure are at the forefront of the company’s investment planning. Examples of RSGT’s investment in projects which help to protect the environment include active remediation of Red Sea pollution in the Jeddah vicinity and support of local sea life.
From the perspective of the social responsibility of Red Sea Gateway Terminal, and in a collaboration with The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to support projects that achieve Vision 2030, it’s been agreed to cultivating 1500 units of artificial reef in the north of Jeddah Islamic Port. The adoption of this project demonstrates RSGT’s commitment to conserving fish resources and protect the marine environment in the Red Sea.
It is an important objective of RSGT to maintain and support local sport and cultural events in the regions in which it operates. The company’s sponsorship programs are also aimed at preserving local historical heritage;
RSGT currently is supporting Friends of Jeddah Parks “Amerah Park” “Faisal Park” in proving clean treated water for the park’s aggregation.
RSGT is also committed to support cultural events held at the park
RSGT initiated to support the first project of CSR events within the Jeddah Islamic Port, through the rehabilitation and renovation of the “Cultural Center” within the Coast Guard week under the theme of “Safety of the Marine and Wild Environment” in conjunction with the Association of Saudi Divers, held in Jeddah Corniche 9-10 Saturday 10 May 2014.
We are committed in RSGT to work with businesses,community groups, to improve the place we live at, and do business byimplementing environmental recycling programs that benefit our community and company both socially and economically.
RSGT has established a new Recycling Program in glass and plastic.New recycling bins were purchased and distributed among all RSGT’s buildings. One of the recycling company’s agreement terms with us is buying the materials used in the recycling program in exchange for small amounts which goes in RSGT’s safe.
“Part of our commitment to create a safe and healthy workplace, Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) in cooperation with the Ministry of Health (MOH) organized an awareness session on the Corona Virus, its transmission methods, symptoms and the best way to prevent it.”
RSGT conducted a successful fire and rescue drill with the support and cooperation of The industrial Security, Jeddah Islamic Port, Coast Guard, and Civil Defense. The goal of this drill is to increase emergency preparedness and reduce response time.
“RSGT Health day” aims to raise general health and safety awareness including precisions of corona virus and offers Flu and Meningitis Vaccination for all employees. In this regard, the CCD made an agreement with the Ministry of Health office in JIP to provide such =services to all RSGT employees. Thisevent is planned to be an annual event with wider scope of CSR initiatives.
RSGT remains fully committed to serving customers and the Saudi Market while adhering to all precautionary and safety measures to protect our employees, customers and community.
Based on the management’s concerns about the safety of everyone within RSGT, and during the period of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Corona virus (MERC.CoV), a health committee was formed to look after this issue. The initiatives included an awareness lecture given by a specialized doctor from King Fahad Hospital, distribution of sanitizers to all RSGT employees, JIP and customs, printing posters and banners all around RSGT and JIP.
Health & Safety
The three primary principles of Health and Safety Culture pursued by RSGT are:
1) Elimination of workplace risk
2) Full involvement of all employees in following safety rules and policies
3) Embracement of a company-wide Safety Culture
Specific procedures, education and training programs have been designed to assure complete compliance among employees, customers, third-party vendors and stakeholders in RSGT facilities in the elimination of workplace risk, and assurance of a comprehensive and committed culture of a safe workplace. With steadily increasing levels of port activities in bulk, general cargo and container handling at RSGT facilities, the importance of safety and a risk-free work environment continue to be of paramount importance. RSGT continues to meet the challenges of growing port and terminal operations by reinforcing safety culture at every level of our company, and ensuring that any safety-related incident is investigated and addressed immediately.
Education & Personal Development
At present, RSGT employs over 1,200 people, and we consider the professionalism and dedication of our employees to be one of the company’s greatest assets. RSGT is committed to helping to realize the full potential of each of our employees, and to fostering a corporate environment which rewards personal initiative and responsibility, and promotes professional and personal development.
Core principles of RSGT’s Human Resources philosophy include comprehensive employee training; providing support for working mothers and their children; and employee family medical insurance programs. Other HR programs provide opportunities for employee recreational activities, and incentives for ongoing training and advancement, in addition to other employee benefits.
IRSGT signed a one year period of a Memorandum of Understanding with Help Center Providing maintenance support and help to the center. A partial sponsorship program is offered to a student in education and training. Another area of supporting the center is providing sun shades for the safety and health of the Help Center students

This agreement contributes to the development of society and the rehabilitation of the workforces; which includes scholarships to advance the quality of education for students with special needs and provide the right environment for them to be motivated and progress to make better production. It is also meant to spread cultural awareness of recycling and how to maintain a healthy environment and living places.
